Downed US Flyer with Gibson Girl Transmitter. All of that gear was usually stored in the back of the plane, that a pilot would use after ditching, right? This gear was stored under the pilots seat in an emergency kit. The gibson girl was an hand-cracked emergency transmitter with was on larger aircraft, bombers for example. It got it's name from the shape of the transmitter, which was curved in the center.
